Carnival Cruise Line names chief communications officer
Carnival Cruise Line has appointed Chris Chiames as VP and chief communications officer, a newly created position.
Chiames reports to Carnival president Christine Duffy and will oversee all corporate reputation management, and internal and external communications.
He will serve as a key adviser to Carnival’s leadership team.
He was recently SVP of communications for Sabre Corp., and previously held leadership positions at Orbitz Worldwide, US Airways and American Airlines in PR, government relations and corporate affairs.
"Chris is a hands-on communications leader and strategist with more than 30 years of experience in travel and tourism. With his vast experience and fresh perspective, we expect Chris will set a new standard of excellence for Carnival’s global communications function," Duffy said.
"I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to create a world-class communications function that supports the overall business as Carnival continues to grow," Chiames said.
