Thursday, 24 Jul, 2020 0

As part of a fleet update Carnival Cruise Line has announced the sale of two ships.

Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Inspiration have been sold and Carnival Fascination and Carnival Imagination will be laid up long term with no timeline on a return to service.

Both Fantasy and Inspiration are headed for Izmir, Turkey to be broken up.

It will lead to a major redeployment of several ships in the fleet.

For example, Carnival Fascination 2020-2021 itineraries from San Juan and Barbados have been cancelled, and Carnival Sensation will move from Miami to Mobile.

Carnival Sunrise will then move to Miami to replace Sensation.

The line confirmed that it will take delivery of the new LNG-powered sister ship to the Mardi Gras in November 2022.

The as-yet unnamed ship is under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard and will will sail out of PortMiami.
