Celebrity Silhouette is confirmed as the name for the fourth ship in Celebrity Cruises’ Solstice-Class fleet.

The 2,850-passenger vessel is due to enter service in 2011, following Celebrity Eclipse which is to be launched in Southampton next April.

Like its sister ships – Celebrity Solstice; Celebrity Equinox, which set sail in July and Celebrity Eclipse – the 122,000-ton vessel will offer a half-acre Lawn Club with real grass, a glassblowing show and studio developed with The Corning Museum of Glass.

Solstice-class ships offer larger than usual cabins – 90% outside and 85% with balconies – as well as several categories of accommodation, including Celebrity’s ConciergeClass and AquaClass.

Company president Dan Hanrahan said: “Countless guests and travel partners have asked us to reveal the ship’s name over the past few months, which is yet another indicator of the widespread interest in these stunningly designed ships.”
