Celebrity’s Canadian/New England cruises famous for foliage

Celebrity Cruises’ 2009 Canada/New England sailings are now open for booking.

They are limited to three sailings a year but the trips main attraction are autumn foliage. The first sailing is a 14-night cruise on September 19, followed by a 13-night voyage on October 3, and a 14-night cruise on October 16, all on Celebrity Constellation, round-trip out of Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey.

All three sailings feature an overnight stay in one of Celebrity’s past guests’ favorite ports, Quebec City, Quebec.

Known for its French heritage, cobbled alleyways, and the scenic St. Charles and St. Lawrence rivers, Quebec City offers Celebrity’s guests a host of shore excursions that range from a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride with dinner in the old quarter to a bicycling tour to the cascading Montmorency Falls.

Each sailing also includes a full-day visit to Sydney, Nova Scotia, where guests can embrace the local culture through shore excursions such as “The Heart of the Island,” which takes guests to Cape Breton Island, highly rated by National Geographic Traveler.

The three voyages also feature calls on Newport, Rhode Island, and Boston, Massachusetts, which Celebrity Constellation hasn’t visited since 2007, as well as Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Portland, Maine.

Other ports in Celebrity’s 2009 Canada/New England season include Bar Harbor, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick.
