Cendant completes Gullivers/OctopusTravel.com deal
Cendant has completed the acquisition of Gullivers Travel and online arm Octopustravel.com.
The New York City-based travel giant announced the $1 billion purchase in December in the wake of acquiring ebookers.
Cendant Travel Distribution Services Division chairman and chief executive Samuel Katz said: “Our acquisition of Gullivers positions Cendant as a leading global travel intermediary.
“Over time we expect the acquisition to provide considerable cross-selling opportunities in our customer channels and facilitate our growth strategies in China and Japan.”
UK-based Gullivers and its subsidiary Octopustravel.com is a global operator and online provider of hotels, destination services, packages and group tours.
Cendant also owns Galileo, Travel 2/4 and Orbitz in the US.
