Certified agents earning more

Monday, 12 Jan, 2006 0

Certified travel professionals last year earned more and sold more, according to results from Travel Professional magazine’s 15th annual survey.

The survey found that agents who earned their CTC or CITE designation had pay increases of 5%, while non-certified agents had a 6% decrease.

Last year, independent contractors comprised more than a third of the 1,000 survey respondents. That number represented a leap of 10% from the previous year.

The Travel Institute Fund says because of these results, the group is providing $135 scholarships to anyone enrolling in CTC before the end of the month. A $50 fee for the CTC Challenge is also being waived.

More information is available at www.thetravelinstitute.com.

The Travel instituted, started in 1964, offers various education programs and professional certifications.
