China lifts some Covid restrictions on theatres, live venues
Beijing has further eased restrictions on public gatherings, with theatres and other live performance venues allowed to increase capacity.
Ahead of the National Day holidays, the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism said theatres can now open at 75% of normal visitor capacity.
Large-scale outdoor performances and live shows are permitted if in a low-risk area.
Audiences must wear face masks and have their temperature checked on entering a venue.
The ministry also announced the lifting of curbs on tourist attractions across the country, which may also now open at 75% capacity.
Although mostly eradicated in many areas, China still has 171 patients under treatment for Covid-19.
More than 85,000 tested positive for the virus in Mainland China.
