China slams ‘suicide’ rumour of China Eastern crash
China’s civil aviation regulator blasted online rumours blaming the co-pilot’s suicidal actions for the crash of China Eastern flight MU5735 last month.
The investigation is still continuing and no conclusions have been reached about the cause of the accident, said Wu Shijie, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s safety office.
The flight crashed on March 21 after abruptly losing altitude.
The two black box recorders are still being analysed.
The online rumours surfaced recently within China and have been reported internationally.
They are now the subject of police investigation.
The CAAC said that the preliminary investigation report will be completed within 30 days.
