Chinese travelers show preference for Hong Kong and Taiwan

China is now the world’s fourth-largest outbound travel market with many countries craving their business. So where do the Chinese prefer to go?

Qunar.com China's biggest travel web site, provided a roundup of mainlanders’ traveling and hotel booking habits in a new report, according to CNNGo.

Hong Kong and Taiwan are the two most popular destinations for Chinese tourists, according to Qunar which based its results over a six-month period.

Participants gave four main reasons for their preferences: no language barrier, geographically closer, abundant shopping and excellent food.

The two Chinese-speaking destinations were followed by the Maldives, where Chinese newlyweds love to honeymoon, according to CNN.

Below is a list of the 10 most popular overseas destinations for mainland tourists according to Qunar’s report.
