Choice signs deal for three hotels in Turkey
Choice Hotels International is to introduce its upscale Ascend Hotel Collection to Turkey.
The franchise chain, which also has the Comfort, Quality, Clarion brands, has entered into an agreement with Sevkon Gayrimenkul, a real estate development company in Izmir, Turkey.
The deal will see the pair initially develop three Ascend Hotel Collection, with plans for more longer term.
The first boutique hotel will open in September at Alacati Beach, based on the Cesme peninsular an hour’s drive from Izmir.
Its 128 rooms will overlook the bay of Alacati on the Aegean Sea and guests will have access to the resort’s beach.
The hotel will also have an outdoor swimming pool, fitness facilities, Turkish hamam, an -°talian concept sea food restaurant and a main a la carte restaurant.
Two hotels will be developed over the next three years at sites in Ayvalik, Cunda Island, a seaside town on the northwestern Aegean coast north of Izmir, and in Mazi, Bodrum, which is a new and upcoming resort development area south of Bodrum.
Ascend Hotel Collection member hotels are distinctive, independent hotels in prime business or leisure travel destinations.
Choice launched the Ascend Hotel Collection in 2008 and now has more than 160 hotels in destinations such as New York, Miami, Napa Valley, Sydney, Stockholm, Nice, Edinburgh and Dublin.

Choice’s Turkish portfolio comprises three Clarion Hotels in Istanbul and one in the Southern Turkish city of Kahramanmara-Ÿ, known as Maras.
A further Clarion Hotel is under development in Istanbul Bakirkoy.
Recently, Choice Hotels announced the signing of a master development agreement to introduce and develop three of its most prominent brands – Clarion, Comfort and Quality – across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, expected to deliver approximately 25 hotels and 8,000 hotel rooms for Choice’s portfolio regions by 2021.
