Climbers killed in devastating avalanche
An avalanche in Nepal has killed at least eight climbers who were hit by a wall of snow near the top of the 8,156m Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world.
Many of the climbers were resting in their tents when the avalanche struck.
Thirteen climbers were rescued alive, of whom five were airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.
A search is continuing for three missing climbers from the party of 25, mostly Europeans.
Manaslu is considered one of the most dangerous peaks in the world, with many deaths in recent years.
