Club 18-30 nearly sold out during World Cup

Sunday, 11 May, 2006 0

Youth operator Club 18-30 claims a 22% rise in June sales has left the company almost sold out for the World Cup month.

The number of female holidaymakers has risen by 5% in Crete and Majorca while male bookings are up 10% above the usual average in Tenerife and Corfu, with an overall rise in demand for flexible breaks covering particular match dates.

Head of worldwide sales Stephen Vaughan said: “We are seeing a very mixed picture when we analyse the bookings for June, with an increase in demand from female guests for the more traditional beach and shopping destinations, while the lads are booking party resorts in greater numbers than usual.

“Whatever the rationale, we are delighted that a normally difficulty booking period is ahead 22% compared to last year and we are close to putting up the ‘Sold Out’ signs.”

The football tournamnet in Germany kicks off on June 9 with England’s first game against Paraquay the following day.
