Club Med engages agents via FB
As part of a wide ranging initiative to expand its social media presence, Club Med has launched a Facebook Group page dedicated to travel agents.
Entitled The Club Med Great Agents, the page has over 180 US agents so far since launching in April.
"It is a closed group, but agents can request to be added to the group, said Patrick Mitchell, vice president of sales for North America.
The Facebook Group page serves as a way to more actively engage and educate agents regarding Club Med’s global portfolio."
Mitchell said many US agents are well acquainted with Club Med resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean but it wants to create greater awareness of the company’s other long haul properties such as Bali, Maldives and its 20 ski resorts.
The company is focusing on the US agent community and Club Med’s social media team is based in Miami.
The FB group features the Great Agents Reward program, which offers free nights at Club Med resorts with each booking.
The social media strategy is closely aligned to its Expert Agent certification program.
Mitchell said US winter booking revenue was up 13% compared to 2013 and 35% up in advance bookings for next winter.
