A major restructure designed to make the company more customer focused has been instigated by technology supplier Comtec Group.
The business has been divided into three business units with dedicated product teams.
Each will be led by a general manager, a new role within the organisation.
A number of new appointments have been made, including Chris Nourse, who was formerly at Multicom.
The three new business areas are tour operating led by Chris Suddell. The unit’s focus is on selling, managing and supporting the continued introduction of Travelink, which has just announced Ramblers Holidays as its latest client.
Jon Pickles is the newly appointed general manager of the travel agents/retail business. He manages the Travelconnect team, which is starting to take on more clients, with STA Travel just announced, The e-commerce Team and the CRM team also report into this business unit.
Nourse has been appointed general manager for Travelgateway, which provides all content across Comtec’s product suite under a new gateway/distribution division.
There will be no changes to any of the overseas offices, the company said.
Comtec CEO Simon Powell said: “This is a real shift in approach for Comtec, and is a step we are taking to ensure that we continue to deliver the very best solutions to the travel industry both in the UK and around the globe.
“Despite the economic downturn, we are continuing to see real growth and in order to keep up with demand and continue to innovate on our customers’ behalves; we have had to look at how we run our business.
“I know that our new ‘unit-focused’ structure will provide the empowerment, simplicity and scalability, as well as the right people, to continue to take the business forward.”
