Corporate Travel salaries break six figures
The average U.S. travel manager earns more than $100,000 a year, up almost 4% from last year, according to a new survey by Business Travel News.
The 200 respondents to BTN‘s 30th annual Travel Manager Salary & Attitude Survey reported a 3.8% increase over last year, pushing them into six-figure territory, with an average salary of $102,800.
More than half of large companies tie travel managers’ bonuses to their contribution to organizational value.
Managing meetings is a growing responsibility for travel managers. Thirteen percent said they have taken on strategic meeting management in the past two years, and 11% said they have started looking at meeting planning and logistics. Another 15% and 11%, respectively, expect to take on those responsibilities in the next two years.
Fourteen percent expect to initiate online expense reporting and 18% expect to add traveler tracking software, the survey reports.
