The Tourism Concern postponed AGM is to be held at London Metropolitan University on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:30am – 2:30pm. The organization is hoping that the meeting will influence the direction and success of Tourism Concern moving into the next decade. Or not.
Although there has been a groundswell of support from the travel and tourism industry, the beleagured organization is set to run out of funding within a few months
Issues that will be explored will include:
- What are the best ways to convey their messages, and at the same time increase support for Tourism Concern?
- Are they over dependent on fundraising for our income?
- Should Tourism Concern be a consultancy or think tank?
- Do the members think Tourism Concern should be more of a business and develop their training and educational resources?
- Should Tourism Concern be a supporter driven organisation and abandon membership altogether or perhaps have new and different categories of membership?
- Should they consider a merger with another organisation?
The organisation is also looking for volunteers working half day shifts on their stand at Destinations holiday and travel show in London in the ‘Responsible Travel’ area. between the 4-7 of February,
