Cruise line expands land-based tours
Archaeological explorations, heli-tours and wilderness treks in search of Alaskan black bears are to be offered to cruise passengers.
The new range of shore excursions is being introduced by Celebrity Cruises.
The line’s ‘Celebrity Xpeditions’ tours are being expanded to include trips to remote Easter Island, exploration of Mayan ruins in Honduras, hikes around the Matterhorn in Switzerland, a helicopter tour in Hawaii and a four-day trips to the Pyramids in Egypt.
Many of the trips being offered by premium cruise brand are add-ons to existing cruise itineraries, while others are provided as part of the line’s voyages.
Prices range from $650 for a wilderness bear trek in Alsaska to $2,500 for the Egypt tour.
The ground tours are in addition to Celebrity Xpeditions trips to the Galapagos Islands, the Artic, Antartic and Moscow launched a year ago.
