Costa Cruises’ new ship Costa Deliziosa is to be named in Dubai.

The 15th ship in the Italian line’s fleet will be the first cruise ship to be named in an Gulf city.

The naming ceremony will take place during the ship’s inaugural cruise, departing from Savona on February 5, 2010 and calling at Dubai on February 23-26.

The 2,826-passenger Costa Deliziosa is to be delivered on January 29 and will join sister ship Costa Luminosa in running seven day itineraries from Dubai this winter.

Costa Deliziosa will cruise from Dubai on Sundays between March 14 and May 9.

Costa Luminosa will run departures on Saturdays from December 12 to April 10.

Costa Europa is to operate a new 18-day itinerary from Savona to Dubai and from Dubai to Savona.
