Culture Trip completes management buyout
Travel media and small-group tour operator Culture Trip has completed a management buyout.
Led by CEO Ana Jakimovska, it has launched a strategic review looking at growing the business in the UK and globally.
Founded in 2011, London-based Culture Trip previously raised over £134 million from investors for its travel inspiration platform.
It has thousands of curated guides, plus 90,000 pieces of content.
As a result of the MBO, 100% of the equity is now owned by management.
The Culture Trip app has been downloaded three million times.
The website now has around nine million monthly unique visitors.
At the beginning of 2022, Culture Trip began selling curated trips.
It has enjoyed 78% year-on-year growth.
Ana Jakimovska, CEO of Culture Trip, said “Since our pivot last year, we’ve achieved incredible growth.”
The strategic review includes assessing all its options, such as further investment and even a full sale of the business.
It says initial conversations have already begun ‘with a number of potential domestic and international firms.’
