Cut Qantas flights worry Tamworth MP Draper
The Member for Tamworth, Peter Draper, says he is very concerned by the Qantas decision to cut three services to the north-west New South Wales city.
The airline is cancelling three non-business flights a week.
Yesterday it was revealed the airline was also cutting three services in Armidale.
Mr Draper says the community should have been told about the decision.
“One would think that being up-front with the community is the best way [of] getting the information out there so that people can plan ahead,” he said.
“Their logic is that people would find when they try to make a booking those flights are not available and be moved on to other flights – they’re saying that this will give people the ability to plan ahead.
“It’s very concerning to me because once you see a decline in availability it may well signal something worse to come in the future.”
