Deadline approaches for BTA entries
The deadline is fast approaching for travel companies to register in this year’s British Travel Awards.
Companies have until May 31 to enter if they want to be in the running for an award.
This year there are 82 award categories, 37 of which are graded by company size – large, medium, and small.
There are three levels of award – gold, silver and bronze. Bronze has been re-instated due to protests after it was dropped last year.
BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton said: "There is usually a last minute rush of registrations but there are also always some companies that miss out – because they left it too late, or thought someone else was doing it.
"The ultimate aim is to receive an award as voted for by the consumer but even to be listed on that nomination form is incredible exposure for any brand."
She said last year 359,634 holiday buyers voted in the British Travel Awards.
Consumer voting in will start on July 2 and run until September 30.
Lobbying tips and tools, including a direct ‘Vote For Us’ button link to a company’s listing on the BTA voting form, are provided to encourage customers to vote for their favourite companies.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in London on November 28.
Voting is verified by Deloitte and TravelMole is the trade media partner for the awards. The Mirror Group is the consumer media partner.
