Delta expands Facebook options

Delta is offering US customers the option of access boarding passes on sites like Facebook within 24 hours of their departures.

It claims it is the first airline in the US to give passengers the ability to access their boarding passes on social media sites.

“We also know how much you value connecting with friends and family. That’s why we added a simple feature that allows you to ‘share’ your travel information right from Facebook,” said the airline.

On its blog, the airline said: “Last year we brought you the ability to book flights directly from Facebook through Delta’s Ticket Counter – the first airline ever to do so. Today, we’re excited to announce that based on your feedback, we’ve added several new features.”

The airline says alongside offering online check in, passengers can now:

– check their flight status.

– view their trip details, including their SkyMiles account balance.

– can see new in-flight amenities, like Wi-Fi, or entertainment, offered on the specific flights they’re looking to book, to help with travel planning needs.
