Delta launches Heathrow to Boston service

Tuesday, 25 Aug, 2020 0

Delta will introduce a five-times-a-week service between Heathrow and Boston next month, as the airline resumes its service to major markets.

The addition of Boston complements Delta’s existing service from Heathrow to both Atlanta and New York-JFK.

Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President Network Planning at Delta said: "While significant hurdles remain in the global fight against the pandemic, we are ready to connect customers to the people, places, opportunities and experiences they’re longing for."

Delta will operate the schedule with a more efficient, upgraded fleet of Airbus A350-900s, A330-900neos and refurbished Boeing 767s, following the retirement of its Boeing 777 aircraft by the end of October 2020.

Delta has also extended its change-fee waiver for new flights booked up until 30 September 2020.

The airline expects pre-Covid-level recovery for international flying to lag behind the US domestic market, but says it plans to add over 50 transoceanic flights next summer, compared to the summer 2020 schedule.

Next summer, Delta plans to expand the Heathrow-Boston route to daily and expand its Heathrow to JFK and Atlanta services from daily to twice daily. It will also add daily services from Detroit and Minneapolis to Heathrow.
