‘DFS-style’ payment option could ‘revolutionise’ holiday bookings
A company claims it could revolutionise the way people book their holiday after launching 0% finance for travel.
Fresh Horizons Travel says over the past 18 months it has been investigating how the payment model, popular in other retail sectors, could be applied to the travel industry.
It has launched the concept today in conjunction with Hotelshop UK under its brand Escape on Holiday.
Customers can book their holidays and pay with 12 interest-free monthly payments.
"This will potentially revolutionise the way UK consumers buy their holidays," said managing director Leslie McCann, who launched FHT last year with fellow travel marketeer Martin Braisby.
"Think DFS for the travel industry. Then think how that revolutionised the retail furniture sector. This concept could have exactly the same effect.
"By making that annual outlay more simple and easy to manage with up to 12 interest-free monthly payments, UK consumers can in effect buy their holidays now and pay for it later i.e. when they come back from a lovely holiday by the beach."
Braisby said it is already talking to a number of prospective clients who are interested in offering the option to their customers.
