Discover Eco Tours buys Top End’s Odyssey Tours and Safaris
Discovery Ecotours Australia has announced that it has acquired Darwin based small group tour operator Odyssey Tours and Safaris, which was owned by Australian Wilderness Tours which went into administration earlier this year and had only acquired Odyssey Tours and Safaris from Voyages Hotels and Resorts in 2006.
Martin Darcy, MD of Discovery Eco Tours said that Odyssey Tours and Safaris will retain its name and operate as a separate entity although it will share its management structure with Discovery Ecotours, adding that he had been interested in the business for some time and it was great that the opportunity came about to purchase it.
He added that Discovery Ecotours has good business in the NT and that they have run parallel to Odyssey Tours and Safaris for some time, so the acquisition makes a great deal of commercial sense and provide the business with increased diversity, marketing and operations.
