Disneyland gets ready for the holidays
Even before summer is over, Mickey is getting ready for Santa.
Disneyland Resort is putting the finishing touches on a new after-dark spectacular, "World of Color − Winter Dreams," that will open at Disney California Adventure Park on Friday, Nov. 15.
The show will be hosted by Olaf the snowman, from the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures animated feature "Frozen," and include new animation and classic scenes from Disney films including "Bambi," "Fantasia" and "Toy Story."
The show’s special effects will play off the "natural stage of water, color and light" that forms the background to this show, as well as the original "World of Color" fountain show, Disney said.
Disneyland also will be bringing back holiday traditions including "A Christmas Fantasy" parade, Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, "it’s a small world" Holiday and "Believe…in Holiday Magic" fireworks, and a holiday snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A., New Orleans Square and "it’s a small world" mall.
Santa Claus will appear in the parade as well, of course, and also greet guests and listen to holiday wishes, through Dec. 24.
Disneyland Resort hotels will be decorated and offer holiday-themed entertainment and dining, and the theme parks will offer extended hours.
