Disruption continues after big freeze

Wednesday, 04 Feb, 2009 0

Airports are starting to resume normal services today following the severe snow in the UK.

However, BAA warned that a small number of cancellations are expected as a knock on effect from the disruption.

Heathrow is open and both runways operational.

“We’re working hard with the airlines to minimise disruption and operate a near full service today,” said BAA.

Gatwick is open and operating a near normal service, but there may be a small number of delays. Passengers are advised to check in as normal.

Stansted and Southampton are back to operating a full service, while Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen are open and operating a “near normal” service.

Eurostar has cancelled a few services today.

From the UK to Paris, it has cancelled train 9004 (departing London at 06:55 and Ebbsfleet at 07:12) and train number 9044, (departing London at 17:35).

From Paris to the UK, it has cancelled train 9015 (departing Paris at 09:07) and train 9049 (departing Paris at 17:43).

Travellers with reservations for these affected trains will be allocated seats on the next available departure and are therefore asked to arrive in good time for the subsequent service.
