Worldspan introduced its new Web-based booking solution, Worldspan Cruise, which the company says provides real time access to cruise line information. The new system also has complete reservations capabilities, the company announced. It is available in the US and Canada, with future distribution planned for Europe and other countries. Worldspan Cruise allows agents to check information such as pricing, negotiated rates, cruise itineraries, cabin and deck plans, port and itinerary information, posting of payments and automated PNR creation. “This highly effective cruise booking solution provides a wider than ever array of search functionality, making it the agent’s number one source for cruise reservations,” said Mike Parks, senior vp and general manager, Worldwide Travel Distribution for Worldspan. To implement Worldspan Cruise, Worldspan has partnered with icruise.com, whose Intellicruise booking technology delivers real time booking capability. The company says Intellicruise makes it possible to shrink a potentially complicated cruise booking process into just a few steps. Launch participants include Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Holland America and Windstar. Worldspan Cruise is available via the Worldspan Go!@Resource Center.
