Israel’s El Al back to business with around 30 destinations after cease-fire
EL AL has announced a gradual resumption of flights following guidelines from Israel Home Front Command, with operations set to expand steadily over the coming weeks.
Starting next week, the airline will serve approximately 30 destinations across Europe, the United States, and the Far East, aiming for the broadest possible coverage while maintaining operational safety.
Active destinations beginning next week include :
– Europe : Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Batumi, Berlin, Bucharest, Budapest, Frankfurt, Larnaca, Lisbon, London Heathrow, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Tbilisi, Vienna, Warsaw, and Zurich;
– United States: Los Angeles, Miami, and New York (JFK and EWR);
– Far East: Bangkok, Phuket, and Tokyo.
EL AL emphasized that a full return to operations will occur in stages, with some flights subject to changes or cancellations during this transition period. Customers whose flights were previously canceled will be contacted proactively to confirm travel plans and receive reassignment where possible. Priority is being given to original flight destinations, nearby alternatives, and cases with exceptional humanitarian or medical needs.
Normal schedules expected after April 18
Ticket sales for outbound flights from Israel remain suspended until April 18, and seat assignments are currently limited to passengers holding existing tickets. Passengers can monitor flight status via the “Manage Your Booking” section on the EL AL website or app, which now features an estimated assignment timeline for outbound flights.
Following directives from state authorities, all regular flights scheduled to depart from Israel through April 18 as part of the original schedule prior to Operation “Roaring Lion,” including their corresponding return flights, have been canceled.
Passengers are advised that there is no need to contact customer service at this stage, as reassignment and updates are being handled automatically. Remaining available seats will be released for sale once the reassignment process is complete.
