Domestic tourism goes healthy
VisitBritain is hoping to appeal to stressed out workers with its latest shortbreaks campaign, launching today.
The marketing organisation, Enjoy England wants to encourage Britons to take shortbreaks and days out at home. Long gone is the perception of a domestic break as encompassing a greasy fry-up at an English B&B followed by a substantial pub lunch – Enjoy Engalnd wants to lure health-conscious travellers with breaks that include either activities, relaxation or self discovery.
The campaign, called “Just Relax” launches today and is being promoted through direct mail and at the Vitality Show 2005 at Kensington Olympia in April.
The English shortbreaks include spa holidays, walking holidays, mountain biking trips, yoga retreats, t’ai chi breaks, meditation, and hot-air ballooning. For more information go to www.visitengland.com/relax.
