Drunk’ air marshal arrested for ‘serious misconduct’
A deputy US marshal has been arrested by UK police on suspicion of being drunk.
London’s Metropolitan Police said a separate accusation of sexual assault during the London bound flight will result in ‘no further action in relation to this allegation.’
It happened on a Delta flight from New York JFK.
The air marshal was travelling to London to accompany a prisoner from the UK being extradited to the US.
“He was arrested after officers at Heathrow Airport were contacted by the crew who reported a man was being disruptive onboard,” the US Marshal Service said.
The man was due in court today.
He allegedly ‘engaged in serious misconduct while intoxicated.’
Police said both the air marshals were intoxicated and one of them allegedly inappropriately touched a female during the flight.
Delta Air Lines is cooperating with the investigation.
“Due to unruly passenger behavior while in flight, the flight was met by local law enforcement upon landing,” Delta said.
