e-Travel releases latest version of world’s most widely deployed online corporate travel solution

e-Travel® Aergo V4.0 spells streamlined management and an even better end-user experience.

Madrid, Spain, 4 September, 2002: e-Travel, the leading global provider of online travel technology and e-commerce business unit of Amadeus, today announced the release of the latest version of its online self-booking travel solution for corporations and travel agencies. Available immediately, e-Travel® Aergo (Global) V4.0 brings enhanced end-user and travel management features to streamline processes and reduce costs on a secure and reliable platform.

Previously called Amadeus Corporate Traveller, e-Travel Aergo (Global) is the world’s most widely deployed online solution for global managed travel.

It is currently used in more than 20 countries, enabling employees to plan and book complete travel itineraries – all within guidelines established by their companies, and all within a highly secure online environment.

New features in Aergo (Global) V4.0, designed to simplify travel management, further enhance the traveller’s experience and so drive increased adoption, include:

1. ProfileLink – automatically synchronises traveller profiles between the GDS (Global Distribution System), the travel agency and the company’s business systems, eliminating a time-consuming manual process. Because profile data is shared seamlessly between all these systems, travellers need only input their information once to have their preferences, loyalty programmes and special requirements used in bookings.

Conforming to the Open Travel Alliance (OTA) travel industry standards, ProfileLink is also available with e Travel Planitgo (e-Travel’s suite of online solutions for leisure travel) and e-Travel’s SAP Travel Management solution. In this configuration, DaimlerChrysler downloaded 106,000 traveller profiles to the Amadeus GDS in a single night, including critical information such as cost centre, employee numbers, contact details and frequent flyer numbers.

2. Enhanced Fare&Compare Air Shopper – puts all the traveller’s air travel and fare options in an easy-to-use single screen. Combining corporate rules with negotiated and discounted fares from the Amadeus System – as well as private and negotiated fares distributed by ATPCO (Airline Tariff Publishing Company), Fare&Compare Air Shopper displays flight options by the best available fare, making it easy for the traveller to find the best fare, thereby supporting a company’s drive for reduced travel costs and better travel value.

Fully customisable, e-Travel Aergo (Global) is available in 20 different languages, with the option to build in local provider services. Through the solution, customers have the peace of mind of worldwide 24/7 support and ISO 9001 Quality assured security to protect their data.

Ian Wheeler, e-Travel Managing Director said: “Adoption of online travel management continues to accelerate globally, and with e-Travel Aergo (Global) V4.0, we strengthen our position as the leading global provider of travel technology. The new capabilities introduced with V4.0, particularly the new profile data management capabilities, combined with a highly secure and reliable hosting operation, enable our agency and corporate customers to experience increased levels of success and return on investment.”
