EasyJet announces new winter destination
EasyJet is to launch a new route from London Gatwick to La Palma in the Canaries.
The new winter service, which is expected to carry 14,000 customers in the first season of operation, starts on November 1.
Seats are already on sale. Flights will operate twice weekly on Tuesday and Saturday
Neil Slaven, easyJet’s UK commercial manager, said: "Gatwick is our largest base and we are pleased to continue to strengthen our network there with the addition of this new service to La Palma.
"We are excited to add this Island to our network and we are sure that its mixture of impressive landscapes and historic old town will make it a popular service for our customers from London Gatwick."
La Palma, like the other Canary islands, is a volcanic ocean island. Its attractions include La Caldera de Taburiente National Park, Santa Cruz de La Palma old town, Los Tilos Forest and the Fuencaliente Salt Pans.
