EasyJet crew broke hip when plane hit turbulence
A stewardess suffered a broken hip and another was knocked unconscious when an easyJet flight from Gatwick hit a thunderstorm.
A third member of the crew was also injured during the spell of turbulence on the flight to Naples in Italy.
A newlywed couple told the London Evening Standard that at one point the plane hit an air pocket and plummeted.
Several others were thought to be injured when the plane dropped, said the paper.
The plane, which was carrying 154 passengers on board, was then forced to make an emergency landing in Rome.
A spokesman for the firm said: "EasyJet would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience."
