EasyJet passengers up by 25%
EasyJet saw passenger carryings rise by a quarter in September.
The no-frills carrier handled 2.35 million passengers last month against 1.89 million in September 2003.
The passenger load factor was up one percentage point to 86.9%.
The rolling total of passengers carried was 24 million in the 12 months ending September 2004 against 20 million for the same period in 2002-03.
EasyJet chief executive Ray Webster described September as a “solid month”, adding: “Results include the benefits of network adjustments introduced progressively over the summer months which strengthened our business.”
He said that pre-tax profits for the year are expected to be more than £60 million, at least 16% up on 2003.
