Eiffel Tower to allow groups only with digital booking from next September
The Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE) is continuing its commitment to improving the visitor experience, making it smoother and more secure within the monument.
In 2025, nearly 10 million visitors visited the forecourt of Paris most iconic monument, which is freely accessible. More than 6.75 million visitors accessed the monument’s upper floors, recording an increase in attendance of nearly 450,000 visitors compared to the previous year.
In this context, access conditions for groups are changing as of September 29, 2026. Groups of more than nine people, including the guide, must now purchase their tickets exclusively online. Ticket sales at the monument’s ticket counters will no longer be permitted for groups, regardless of the method of ascent (stairs or elevators).
This change will allow for better planning of visits, reduced waiting times at ticket counters, and more efficient crowd management.
However, individual visitors will still have the option to purchase tickets at the monument’s ticket counters for same-day visits.
Enhanced visitor conditions
In order to preserve the quality of visits and ensure optimal support for visitors, SETE is also strengthening conditions for tourism professionals and reminds that:
- Artificial splitting of groups at ticket counters is not allowed.
- Professional accompaniment limited to assistance at the ticket counter is prohibited: all visits must be accompanied or guided at least up to the second floor.
- Purchases at ticket counters remain reserved for strictly immediate use and are subject to current operating conditions; consequently, any advance resale of tickets, regardless of the medium, is strictly prohibited.
New procedures for tourism professionals
Tourism professionals are required to use exclusively the dedicated platform ticketpro.toureiffel.paris for their bookings by submitting a contract request starting May 4, 2026.
Tickets for visits from September 29, 2026, will be available for sale on this platform beginning July 2, 2026.
