Eight passengers injured in ‘severe turbulence’
Eight passengers were injured as a plane experienced severe turbulence as it came into land at Dublin airport.
The United Airlines flight from New York, carrying 129 passengers, suddenly dropped in altitude as it descended on Sunday.
Passengers were treated for minor injuries and one elderly passenger had to be taken to hospital with a cut to his head.
In a statement, a United spokesperson said the seat belt sign was illuminated when the Boeing 757 hit the turbulence.
The plane landed safely in Dublin and was met on the ground by emergency crews
United Airlines is investigating the incident.
