Elegant Resorts buys Travel by Design
Elegant Resorts has bought high-street agency Travel by Design.
The buyout sees Travel by Design owners Irene and Kristina Hulme retire after 30 years in the business.
The agency, which was established in 1990, will move from its Alderley Edge base to Elegant Resorts’ head office, in Chester, and will be headed up by Sue Law, supported by Sandra Woodward and Sarah Edwards.
In a statement, Elegant Resorts said Travel by Design’s owners had decided to retire and ‘wished to find a suitable and reputable partner to continue to deliver their vision’.
"After conducting an extensive search, Elegant Resorts was chosen as the organisation who will now work to deliver excellent personal service and specialist travel knowledge to Travel by Design clients," the statement added.
Elegant Resorts managing director Lisa Fitzell said: "This marks another milestone in our company’s history as we continue to accelerate our growth in the luxury travel market and fulfil our vision to provide the very best in class luxury holidays, delivered with a truly personal service.
"I would like to congratulate Irene and Kristina on their extremely successful career and wish them a wonderful and fulfilling retirement."
