Emirates is ramping up its network with 60% of its schedule back
Emirates announced that it is currently operating a reduced flight schedule until further notice. This follows the partial re-opening of regional airspace for the safe conduct of commercial flights.
On March 5 and 6 March, over 100 flights were planned departures from Dubai and return. These flights carried people eager to reach their final destinations, as well as essential cargo like perishables and pharmaceuticals. The airline indicated to have transported some 30,000 passengers on a single day.
For today, the airline announced to operate 106 daily round-trip flights to 83 destinations—representing nearly 60 percent of its route network. As an example, the carrier indicated to operate 7 flights to Germany across its four German gateways, Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg.
In several high-demand markets, Emirates has significantly increased capacity. In the United Kingdom alone, the airline will operate 11 daily flights via five airports on March 7, reflecting strong travel demand between the United Arab Emirates and the UK.
Additional capacity has also been added in India. On March 7, Emirates will operate 22 daily flights serving all nine Indian destinations in its network. Finally to the United States, Emirates is currently flying to seven destinations, maintaining an important air link between the US and the UAE.
Emirates teams currently continue to gradually build back the flying schedule, subject to airspace availability and all operational requirements being met. Safety remains a top priority, as does Emirates’ responsibility to its customers. The airline indicates to continue to monitor the situation and adapt its operations accordingly.
Emirates expects to resume 100% of its route network within the coming days, subject to airspace availability and the fulfillment of all operational requirements.
For now, customers should only proceed to the airport if they have a confirmed booking. They can check the flight schedule for upcoming flights, as well as book seats to travel.
Customers’ advice
Customers booked to travel between 28 February until and including 31 March have these options:
- Rebook on an alternate flight. Passengers can rebook on another flight to your intended destination for travel on or before 30 April. However, if booked with a travel agent, the agency must first be contacted.
- Request for refund. Passengers can also request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form if directly booked with Emirates. Otherwise, they need to check with their travel agents.
Customers are requested to ensure their contact details are correct by visiting Manage Your Booking to receive updates.
