Etihad/Virgin increase baggage allowance
Etihad Airways and Virgin Australia have increased the complimentary baggage allowance for Economy class guests to 30 kilos, providing travellers with an extra seven kilos of luggage on flights from Australia to Abu Dhabi and beyond.
Additionally, an Etihad Guest Elite or Velocity Platinum member traveling in Economy will now be able to check-in as much as 50kg of baggage on a complimentary basis.
In March, Etihad Airways and Virgin Australia increased the baggage allowance for premium passengers to 40kg for Business class and 50kg for First Class.
The new allowances do not apply to travel to/from the USA and Canada, where baggage policies are regulated on a per-piece basis.
