Eurostar forced to cancel trains following seven-hour delays
Eurostar cancelled four trains today after an overhead power cable fault in France caused its services yesterday to be delayed by up to seven hours.
The train operator said all services between London and Paris would be running with delays up to lunchtime today, and passengers on early morning departures have been switched to later trains.
Thousands of passengers were stranded on trains in France on Monday when a sagging overhead cable meant trains had to be switched from high-speed lines to slower ones.
Some told the BBC they had been left with no information about the delay and a few said they feared there was a security scare when police boarded the train.
Eurostar said all the trains had eventually arrived at St Pancras.
