Eurostar to make fares more accessible to travel trade
Travel agents and operators will be able to access Eurostar’s booking inventory system via the Amadeus rail sales platform from the middle of this year.
The cross-Channel rail operator said it will provide its full range of routes and fares to travel agencies and tour operators worldwide, subject to commercial agreement between the rail provider and the distributors.
Eurostar said the agreement would make its fares more accessible to leisure travellers, while tour operators will have access to the complete range of Eurostar routes and fares as well as some SNCF and SNCB connections.
Head of sale Darren Williams said: "Eurostar has been working with Amadeus since 2006 when our two companies signed their first technology and distribution agreement, making Eurostar available alongside airlines on the Amadeus Air-Rail Display.
"Now, the Amadeus rail platform will unlock a prime sales channel for us. This agreement enables us to deploy our full range of fares in a quick and simple manner to travel agencies and tour operators around the world.
"We are pleased to continue our successful partnership with Amadeus to better serve our travellers, particularly in the leisure sector and the broader online community."
Rose Fernandez, marketing director of Amadeus UK & Ireland said, "Available through Amadeus Web Services in mid-2015, Eurostar will also join SNCF in Amadeus Selling Platform as part of the new, Rail Display later in the year.
"This development will enable travel professionals and their customers to compare and book rail services more efficiently via online and offline sales channels and is a true step towards a European multi-modal travel offering."
