Eurostar train traffic disrupted between Paris, London, Amsterdam and Brussels
Due to a problem with the overhead power supply in the Channel Tunnel and a subsequent failed Le Shuttle train, Eurostar trains have been disrupted. The trains are consequently subject to severe delays and last-minute cancellations.
Out of London, from the 16 trains planned to Paris on Dec. 30, only two would leave the British capital in the evening. From the 5 services to Amsterdam, only one will terminate in the Netherlands, serving Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Another train will only go to Brussels. From the 10 Eurostar circulating between London and Brussels, only one early morning and two late afternoon are planned.
Eurostar strongly advises all our passengers to postpone their journey to a different date. The company recommends travelers to avoid coming to London-St Pancras Station unless they already have a ticket to travel.
Eurostar gives three options to passengers :
• Exchange a booking for free to travel in the same travel class at a different time or date. It only takes a minute to rearrange your trip.
• Cancel the booking and claim an e-voucher. Travelers will have 12 months from the date of your disrupted journey to redeem it on eurostar.com.
• Cancel the booking and get a refund. Clients will receive a refund for the value of the ticket but not for any booking or exchange fees. Eurostar will process the request within 28 days.
Travelers have three months from the date of the original date of trip to claim their preferred option.
Getlink, the Channel Tunnel operator, announced in-between a gradual resumption of traffic from 3:00 p.m. (CET) on December 30. However, this does not mean services will fully return to normal on December 31; operational disruptions are still expected on January 1, 2026, including canceled stops in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Passengers are advised to check the Eurostar website’s “Disruptions” or “Service Status” sections for the latest information on their specific train.
