Eye on the sky: new Southwest service makes packing easier

Friday, 23 Oct, 2007 0

Want to make your packing list while booking an airline trip or checking in for a flight?

Southwest Airlines has partnered with NBC Weather Plus to offer online video forecasts for each region served by the airline.

The Weather station is the first all-digital broadcast network, according to Southwest.

“We are constantly exploring initiatives that allow us to provide our Customers with the ultimate online experience.  The NBC Weather Plus system will be a wonderful southwest.com addition,” said Kevin Krone, Southwest’s vice president of marketing, sales and distribution.

The NBC Weather Plus/Southwest Forecasts icon will reside on various pages of southwest.com. Once visitors click on the icon, they have the opportunity to choose a forecast that relates to their personal outbound or inbound travel plans.

Based in Dallas, Southwest currently operates more than 3,300 flights a day and has more than 33,000 employees system wide.
