Family vacation cost is up
Everyone knows gas prices are up, but so is the average American’s vacation cost, says AAA.
Their annual vacation cost survey showed lodging and dining costs when combined increased 5% this year.
AAA’s survey showed a family of two adults and two children can expect to pay an average of $247 a day for food and lodging.
Rising travel demand has been pushing hotel rates higher in many cities.
The least expensive state in the US was Nebraska, where the daily average cost for a family of four was $184; the most expensive state was Hawaii, with an average rate of $518 per day.
