Fasten your iPods
A report in The Dominion Post says that Air New Zealand passengers will be able to plug iPods into new personal inflight entertainment systems being fitted to 18 of the airline’s Airbus A320 and Boeing 767 aircraft.
This will allow them to view their own videos and listen to their own music through the systems.
Other devices can be plugged into the Panasonic X Series inflight systems through a USB port.
Panasonic says the entertainment system lets passengers “chat” with each other and send requests for drinks or menu choices to cabin crew electronically.
Air New Zealand has not said whether it plans to make use of those features.
