Fears of more habitat destruction from a second Scottish Trump golf course
Conservationists in Aberdeenshire are waning of more environmental destruction from a second Trump golf course. It is citing the Trump Organization’s track record in destroying habitats when the Trump International Golf Links was built.
Trump’s existing course at Balmedie ruined protected sand dunes, which ended up losing their protected status due to irreversible damage.
A second 18-hole golf course which has been approved by Aberdeenshire Council could cause even more environmental destruction, say locals and activists. Trump’s second course will adjoin the existing one and will be built on a different sand dune area that is part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
