Fears over Dubai Metro opening date

Thursday, 13 Aug, 2009 0

DUBAI – Dubai commuters are counting the days before the official opening of Dubai Metro on 09 09 09 – September 9, 2009.

According to an Arabian Business survey, less than 11 percent of respondents think that the Metro will be ready on time.

Dubai Metro is Middle East’s first and the longest driverless metro line constructed as one project worldwide.

The Red line is 52.1 km long and will connect the city with Dubai International Airport, covering a span of 29 stations.

It is hoped the Metro will go some way to relieving Dubai’s chronic traffic congestion.
