First Choice looks longhaul
First Choice Airways says its may consider new longhaul destinations following the announcement of an order for Boeing’s new 250-seater 7E7 jet plane.
It plans to take delivery of six of the aircraft from 2009, which is when the plane will come into service. First Choice Mainstream Holidays managing dircetor, Dermot Blastland said: “We will be able to consider destinations that are impossible to fly to non-stop with our current fleet and are delighted that the lower fuel emissions and noise levels will help the environment.”
The “Dreamliner” jet can fly up to 10,000 miles using 20% less fuel than its current counterparts. According to First Choice passengers will benefit from a more pleasant flying experience due to higher humidity in the cabins, wider seats and aisles and larger windows.
