Five-star Capella hotel set for Orlando’s iSquare Mall development
The $400 million iSquare Mall and Hotel project on Orlando’s International Drive is to get a five-star hotel tenant, following an agreement with upscale hotel group Capella.
The Solis Orlando Hotel will comprise 27 stories and feature ‘7-star amenities’ when it debuts in 2017.
"This hotel will be among the finest in the world," said Abdul Mathin, chairman and CEO of The Blackmine Group, the project developer.
"This incredible iSquare project reflects the highest level of luxury and refinement, with extraordinary architecture inspired by futuristic designs."
The development will break ground in the summer and will also house an indoor ice skating rink, a 100,000-square-feet convention center, a 500-seat theater, spa and an observation deck with a rotating restaurant.
About 2,000 jobs will be created and Mathin stated the aim is to transform the northern section of I-Drive into a more international, luxury destination.
